What are CPR and AED?
CPR and AED are two critical steps in the process of saving the life of a person suffering from cardiac arrest. In cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), chest compressions are done and in such CPR works as a manual heartbeat to keep the vital organs alive. Automated external defibrillator (AED) is a device that can restart the heart. This device attempts to “jump start” the heart by sending a jolt of electricity through the body. This tool is the difference between life and death for hundreds of people every year, so knowing how to use a AED correctly is extremely important.
Why CPR and AED Certification?
Emergency situations, such as cardiac arrest may happen to anyone, at any time, and anywhere. In case of a cardiac arrest, the patient’s survival rate goes down by 10% with each passing minute without defibrillation. Responding to such situations appropriately is critical to saving the life of the patient. It is for this reason, AED and CPR certification training courses are in huge demand across Yakima and neighboring regions. A CPR card often is a requirement for many professions, but if things go wrong you will be glad that you have a solid working knowledge of how to perform CPR and use an AED
