Nurse Delegation with a special focus on diabetes is an additional delegation class that allows caregivers in specific settings and under the supervision of a delegation nurse to administer insulin to diabetic patients.
The Nurse Delegation Core Training is a required prerequisite to taking this course though they can be both taken at the same time.
In this class, you will learn:
- The types of diabetes and how they are different
- How diabetes affects the patient’s body both in the short-term as well as the long-term
- How insulin works and how to safely administer it
- How to spot blood sugar emergencies

The special focus on diabetes course counts for 3 hours of continuing education. This course is available as a home study course with monitored in-person testing.
